Wind Farm Geophysics
There are optimal places to install wind turbines. We just have to find them.
In the 20th century we search the depths of the oceans for minerals and oil. Now, we search for the places on the seabed that are suitable for wind turbine foundations. This is easier said than done!
Shallow seismic acquisition is a popular tool to help find the best spots. But with it comes uncertainty. There are good acquisitions and bad ones. There are resolution limits that must be understood and calibrated. And when it all works, you still need to build a 3D model of the subsurface to make business decisions.
This is where we can help. Our geoscientists are expert in this type of analysis. We’ve been working with installers for years with their models. And we are ready to help you too.
