Ellen Mitchell FGS-Managing Consultant
I’m Ellen Mitchell and I’m very excited to be joining ERC Evolution as a Managing Consultant. I’ve worked at ERCE for the past six years, most recently as a Senior Geoscientist, and am now looking forward to using my skills to help further the energy transition.
In my time as a geoscientist, I was fortunate enough to be able to study and model subsurface geology from all over the world. I have also worked as a Project Manager to coordinate and deliver studies of the subsurface and evaluate the economic potential of opportunities. Recently, I have been involved with research and development on Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and have completed training in Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission assurance which has enabled me to quantify carbon footprints and help bring society closer to net-zero.
My academic background is in Earth Sciences, which I studied at Oxford University. There, I learned about the Earth’s climate and conducted research on a global warming event which occurred millions of years ago. I loved gaining an understanding of the relationships between the Earth’s systems and relating these to the changes we now see arising from anthropogenic influences. I enjoy applying knowledge and research to driving practical, positive outcomes, which has led me to join ERC Evolution.
I am informed and passionate about the issues facing our earth but also pragmatic about the energy demands of our society, and am looking forward to being a part of ERC Evolution as we support our clients solve these associated challenges.
